Papdi Chaat
Main Ingredients
- For Papdis:
- Papdis (store-bought or homemade)
- For Assembling:
- Boiled potatoes (chopped or mashed)
- Boiled chickpeas or sprouts
- Thick yogurt (dahi), sweetened with a little sugar
- Green chutney (made from coriander, mint, garlic, ginger, chili, cumin, salt, and lemon juice)
- Tamarind chutney (made from tamarind, jaggery, dates, chili powder, cumin, coriander powder, and salt)
- Garlic chili chutney (optional, made from soaked red chilies and garlic)
- Sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles)
- Chaat masala
- Fresh coriander leaves
- For Green Chutney:
- Coriander leaves
- Mint leaves
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Green chili
- Cumin
- Salt
- Lemon juice
- For Tamarind Chutney:
- Tamarind
- Jaggery
- Dates (optional)
- Chili powder
- Cumin
- Coriander powder
- Salt
- For Garlic Chili Chutney (Optional):
- Soaked red chilies
- Garlic
- A little sugar
Directions
- Prepare Chutneys:
- Blend the ingredients for green chutney and tamarind chutney separately. Strain if needed.
- For garlic chili chutney, blend soaked red chilies with garlic and a little sugar.
- Whisk Yogurt:
- Use thick and fresh yogurt, sweetened with sugar.
- Beat until smooth.
- Assemble Papdi Chaat:
- Arrange papdis on serving plates.
- Top with boiled potatoes, chickpeas, and sprouts (if using).
- Drizzle green chutney, tamarind chutney, and garlic chili chutney (if desired).
- Sprinkle chaat masala.
- Garnish with sev and fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
